I haven’t done a ‘Current Favourites’ post for a very long time and thought I better update you on some products that I have been loving lately.
Laura Mercier discontinued the original Silk Creme Foundation formulation last year so I switched to using their newer ‘Oil Free’ version. I found it was much thinner in consistency so you needed to use more and there was less foundation in the tube than the prior version. When I finished that tube I decided to look for a new foundation. I spent a couple of weeks trying lots of different samples of foundation until I finally found my new favourite foundation – the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Full Coverage Foundation. It sits nicely on my skin, not too dewy or matte and lasts all day. It is also good value for money as the tube contains 50mL of product rather than 30mL.
I have been using the IT Cosmetics Bye Bye Pores Pressed Powder* for about six months and need to buy a new one as there is only a tiny bit left in the pan. This powder does a great job of mattifying and extends the wear time of my foundation.
The IT Cosmetics No-Tug Waterproof Gel Eyeliners are the first liners I have tried that stay on my tightline all day. I also like that they don’t need to be sharpened. They are often out of stock in the Sydney Sephora so if you see them, grab them!
I didn’t expect to like the Marc Jacobs Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara* despite the current hype as I am a waterproof mascara girl through and through. I have dead straight lashes that point down and waterproof mascara is normally the only thing that will hold a curl. This mascara is the best volumising mascara I have ever tried. It does an ok job of holding a curl which I am willing to deal with as the volumising aspect is so good.
The Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick in Kiss Kiss Bang Bang* has been my favourite lipstick since spring. The staying power is amazing without being as drying as a liquid lipstick. I think I will buy a nude shade for my wedding!
