Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set

Zoeva Rose Golden Luxury Set*

I am a minimalist at heart and yet I hoard and collect makeup brushes. I find that good quality brushes can alter both the application and wear time of makeup.

A large amount of my makeup brushes are high end Japanese made brushes by Chikuhodo, Hakuhodo and Wayne Goss. Most of my friends would never spend that kind of money on makeup brushes and I wanted to be able to recommend a good quality brush brand at a more affordable price point.

Before discovering Zoeva I probably would have recommended Real Techniques brushes. Real Techniques brushes perform well but I’m not a fan of the bright, mismatched, chunky handles and have found that they wore out quicker than I expected. I can’t attest to the longevity of these Zoeva brushes (I have been using these for 5 months) but I find the matching rose gold and brown handles much more aesthetically pleasing.

The 102 Silk Finish Brush is a synthetic foundation brush similar in shape to the Real Techniques Buffing Brush but the density is more similar to the Sigma F80. This is my favourite brush of the set! The density is perfect for buffing in foundation and the rounded shape makes getting into the contours of the face very easy.

The 110 Face Shape Brush is a synthetic brush designed to be used for contouring, I actually use this brush for concealer as I tend to prefer a slightly larger brush for concealer. The 142 Concealer Buffer is a synthetic brush designed to do exactly what it says, buff in concealer. I prefer the 110 Face Shape Brush for this job but for those who prefer a smaller brush, it gets the job done well.

I use the 106 Powder Brush for both powder and bronzer application. It is similar in shape to the IT Cosmetics Heavenly Luxe Wand Ball Powder #8. The 127 Luxe Sheer Cheek brush is made from a mixture of synthetic and natural hairs. I use this for almost anything powder based – blush, highlighter, powder and bronzer.

The 227 Soft Definer Brush is similar in shape to the MAC 217. My 217 is a few years old now and is scratchy in comparison to the 227. I use the 317 Wing Liner Brush to apply eyeshadow on my bottom lash line but it would also work well for gel eyeliner. The 231 Petite Crease Brush is the perfect size for defining the crease.

I would highly recommend this set to both beginners and anyone else who is looking to upgrade or add to their makeup brush collection! The only brush I feel is missing in this set is a flat shader brush which Zoeva sell separately – 234 Smoky Shader.

I agree, these brushes are beautiful and look so much nicer than the colourful Real Techniques brushes! However I must say that I just bought some of the Real Techniques Bold Metals collection, and I think they also look fantastic!

I have tried a few regular make-up brushes from Zoeva, but this rose gold set looks gorgeous! I would love to try out more brushes from their range as I have been impressed with the ones I have tried so far and this set looks like a great place to start! x
